Car Club

Car Club operator Co-Wheels will be officially launched in Dumfries on Tuesday 20^th November, with six vehicles available for public hire from Monday 12^th November.

What is a Car Club?

Car clubs give people a safer, cleaner and greener way to access cars when they need them.

They are easily accessible, parked in their own designated parking bays across town at the train station, DGOne and Ewart Library. You'll never have to fight for a parking space again!

It's very simple to use. Maintenance, paperwork, insurance and tax are all included! And you just need to use a smart card to unlock the car.

It's a cheaper alternative to running your own car, with a monthly fee of as little as £5 a month. Research has shown that it can save drivers as much as £3,500 a year!

Registering is so simple,

You will get a short telephone call from Co-Wheels to complete licence validation.
You will receive a smart-card to give you access to the vehicles.

Want to save money and reduce the fuel you use?

Sign up for Fuel Efficient Driver Training with the Energy Savings Trust!

Logo - Energy Saving Trust A series of Fuel Efficient Driver Training events will take place across Scotland in a bid to encourage Scots motorists to save money and cut their carbon dioxide emissions. Training normally costs over £40 per person, but for a limited time we are able to offer the sessions for £12 per person!

The training session will take around 50 minutes and the approved driving instructor will:

be accredited by the Energy Saving Trust to provide training
provide the car and insurance
ensure that the training is enjoyable and will focus on giving you the techniques to enable you to drive more efficiently.

All you need to do is:

arrange a suitable date and time with your local Energy Saving Scotland advice centre by calling 0800 512 012 and come along on the day with your driving licence
after making an appointment you will be sent an email confirming your training session and a link to our PayPal payment page for you to pay securely online. If you don't have an email address you will be transferred to our delivery partners Changeworks Resources for Life who will process your payment on our behalf.
